DESIGN IDEAS FOR THE REAL WORLD

The UpSide of In-House
A Free Educational Webcast

December 16, 2008 (1pm CST)
Glenn John Arnowitz, InSource

In-house design departments are finally starting to get some respect because companies are now recognizing the benefits of having a strong internal creative team and are leveraging those talents for profit, growth and success. And because design touches every department in a corporation, designers work on a wider variety of projects and have interactions with a broader range of people than anyone else in their company. Join Glenn John Arnowitz as he discusses the UpSide of working in an in-house design department and how to:

  • build, grow and sustain your department
  • stay motivated and inspired
  • build successful client relationships
  • creative an effective workflow
  • avoid burn-out and isolation
  • staff your department
  • justify your existence
  • and identify where your team could be most effective.

Presenter: Glenn John Arnowitz is director of Creative Services at Wyeth, a research-based, global pharmaceutical company, where he manages an award-winning team of six designers. He has contributed articles to GD:USA, HOW Magazine, The Creative Group's eZine and his department was featured in the book, Bringing Design In-House, published by Rockport Press. Glenn has spoken at the HOW Design Conference, the InHOWse Designer Conference, the Parenting Publishers of America Conference and the Thinking Creatively Conference at Kean University. As cofounder of InSource (www.in-source.org), Glenn is passionately committed to helping in-house creatives achieve design excellence and recognition within their companies and the business community.
