The protracted TV writers' strike might be affecting the Golden Globes and other award shows, but you'll be glad to know the strike won't affect the second annual Intranet Journal Product of the Year Awards. It's now time to nominate your favorite, most useful, creative, and inventive software tools in five categories in Intranet Journal's reader-generated awards. For the winners, these annual awards are a mark of distinction and symbol of achievement in a crowded, highly competitive marketplace. The way it works is like so: Readers first nominate the finalists. Nomination forms are below. You may nominate in as many, or as few, categories as you feel is appropriate. After the finalists are selected (and vetted by the editors), you'll open a final ballot and cast your vote for one of the finalists. Who and what are eligible for the award? The eligibility guidelines are here. But the major criterion is that the nominated products must have been introduced or significantly updated (e.g. a new release version) within the 2007 calendar year. The nomination process will begin January 17 and will be open until February 1. The vote for finalists will begin February 4 and last until midnight (EST) on February 18.
